This is an entry for a contest being held byI've never tried to cram an entire pony into a 50x50 grid of squares before. XD But she said anypony could give it a try so I gave it my best shot.

I still have no clue what you're talking about. Are you talking about conveying 3D form? I really doubt that this icon is doing much of that.
