Awwwwh, what a wonderful picture and I really like the name Harper. Barbary doves are lovely creatures where I live we get wild collared doves which are near enough their wild relatives but Harper is a nicer colour.
She looks really healthy, her feathers are in good nick.

thank you

yes, barbary doves like to droop their tails and wings, so if they are stuck in a cage their feathers will get ruined. i keep harper out most of the time, so her feathers are very nice except for the tips of her tail feathers, but you can't see them in the picture.

Doves tend to like a bit of space, she's lucky to have such a nice owner that lets her have the space she needs. It's pretty difficult to find a captive bird with a perfect tail, they're always a little frayed at the end, just one of those things that happens.

You should enter this in the pigeonclub contest cause it's really good.

Awwhaha, I love Ringneck Doves.
This photo is simply the best!

I would so love one of those.
Though where I live you only get wild Collared Doves. ^^

i got mine at a little pet store in western maryland, they had them for a limited time for mother's day. i haven't seen anywhere here in western new york that has them, even for a short time.

they are definitely great birds, fairly low maintenance, very friendly, they coo, and like to make nests out of everything they find, like candy wrappers, strings, toothpicks.. it's pretty funny. and if you do get one, please let it be out of it's cage often, they aren't birds meant for cages like a parakeet.

i recommend them, i just don't really know where to get them.

Thank you, she is a wonderful pet, but she can be bratty sometimes. she's just like a person!

I actually posted this picture a while ago, recently i found out that she's actually a barbary dove, not a mourning dove, they are very similar. i guess i should update the description.
