"So...how does it feel?", Vignette asked.

"Maybe I should shank you in the leg and ask you, hm?", Shank snarked back.

"Hey, I'm trying to help you here! Also, that was a bad pun. I actually thought the beam would've cauterized the wound, but the damage is worse than I anticipated..."

"Don't go all egghead on me now! Figures that it would hurt like hell after the adrenaline subsided...".

After their narrow escape from the robots, the two ponies cautiously searched the former military base. They stumbled upon the old armory which, to Vignette's
dismay, only had conventional firearms. It did have a military engineer barding though, so he had at least some protection until they found a way out of the complex.
Plus it had some extra pockets, unlike Shank's leather armor.
Shank on the other hand was delighted, since he could rummage through an assortment of firearms very much to his liking. He switched his .32 revolver for a submachine gun
of a larger caliber as well as his rugged combat knife for a Bowie knife from the armory.
His enthusiasm quickly faded though, as his injury made itself noticeable.
To prevent a nasty infection, Vignette quickly turned a pre-war labcoat into makeshift bandages.

"Aren't you an 'ace medic' or something? Make yourself useful...", Shank grumbled.

"I'm a medic, not a wizard...", Vignette sighed. "Stims and potions only can do so much. I need proper equipment to treat your leg."

"Great. Limping on three legs, in a pre-war military base of some sorts, while chased by bloody killer robots. This was a bad idea from the beginning..."

"Well, this IS a military base, so there HAS to be some sort of medical wing. I bet there we can find the tools I need, and probably more chems than we could carry."

Shank sighed. "I don't have much of a choice, have I?"

"Come now, we're in this together.", Vignette smiled at him.

"If you say so. Lead the way, then. But slowly. I have 25% less leg to work with..."
