I've arrived from the swiss trip. now I don't feel anything from Herzog, the only building that touched me was in St. Gallen...

you went to therme vals as well ? it was closed as well in the months i visited swiss ... missed lots of things from zumthor , but also my trip was an architecture group one and not by myself and so i saw alot but not necesarily what i wanted . would have liked to see brion cemetery by carlo scarpa as well ( that's close to the italian-swiss border) but like i said

yes, I just say you really need to go there, feel the water over your body, floating to look to the marvelous roof and ear the chant chamber...it is definatly an architecture experience...I thought that the cemetery was near venice.

good ideea . i was in very rushed trip trough there , never had enough time to do what i could or a generaly good weather, but it worth it .
ps.also if you didn't know, swiss towns , unlike others (ours) , get completely empty around 5 pm ...they don't seem to like hanging around or sit in pubs or clubs , so be prepared for early wake-ups and boring evenings

i like their perfectionist atitudine on everything (see details) , i like their towns ( too bad they're not using them at all from what i see - like public places ,everything) , zumthor is one of my fav architects ( i visited a studio of his in mendrisio

because the archiffect journal reminded me ... if you think you met Zumthor , then i surely met Roland Halbe,as in face to face ,after a conference held at the Bucharest Architecture Anual ,2 days ago ...he had an exhibition and also showed alot at the conference from his portofolio ,and you can really see what 20 years of experience mean in his pictures - flawless !
