while this isn't bad, I feel a wacom tablet is wasted on gimp

unless 2.8 really really revolutionized the brush settings, gimp is not the best "painting from scratch" program

were I you, I'd give mypaint ( [link] ) a look, or paint tool SAI ( [link] )
