Description Decided to have a little fun. What amused me the most was that the piece below was done about three months before this episode aired.

All done in PS.

Of Magic Sheep?

For anyone who doesn't know, it's a play on the book title "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?"; which was the book that inspired the cult classic Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford.

That story has been on my reading list for a long time.

A little piece of advice: If you plan on seeing the movie, DON'T read the book beforehand. You'll be dissapointed. I've experienced that with Needful Things and Jurassic Park.

You CAN, however, read the book AFTER, if you'd like.

That's funny. I thought Jurassic Park was an excellent book and much better than the movie. (Not that it wasn't done well.) And, I have seen Blade Runner a few times.

"That's funny. I thought Jurassic Park was an excellent book and much better than the movie."

I thought do, too... AFTER I saw the movie. If I hadn't've read the book beforehand, I probably would've thought the movie was awesome.

"And, I have seen Blade Runner a few times. "

Well, everyone's different, you know. Maybe you'll think the book was way better than the movie.

Definitely the best scarf of all time!

That was one heck of an episode. Series-premiere-class enemy, awesometacular moments for everyone including non-mane-sixers, and also, after the princesses usually spend episodes like this on the sideline, or trying to do something but not being able to just to show how tough the problem is, we get to see just what Luna can do. (Of course, the biggest display of her power is that she can create a creature in her own mind that can grow to truly apocalypse grade under the right circumstances. Now can we call them goddesses? ...yeah, that's not *good,* but it's pretty cool! Also, it proves that she had some restraint as Nightmare Moon. If deep down she'd really, truly wanted to destroy the world, she could have and with a lot less difficulty than one would think.)

Also, talk about dark. Has she been torturing herseif ever since she got back?

That's what kind of floored me about this episode. She's basically been self-harming ever since her return. And, no one even knew.

The fact that it took the entire first season for Luna to regain enough of her magic to venture out into the world made me wonder if she's not done gaining it all back. It seems like both sisters have learned to be careful about keeping their powers in check. This is basically why the writers couldn't have Luna at the first wedding. And, remember, she didn't want to destroy the world, she wanted to rule it.

And, yes, I think we can call them goddesses now. ^ ^

Bahahahah!
That is hilarious.

It is funny about the new episode considering the piece you posted a while back.  Luna has always struck me like the type who would feel guilty and have a hard time forgiving herself, so I have kind of been expecting an episode about that for some time now, as well.    Though, the depth of her guilt and the scale of the episode itself really surprised me.

Agreed. I was kind of shocked that they actually addressed it. Especially since what Luna did could easily be classified as a self-harming behavior.

The entire dream sequence with the villagers was great though. I completely lost it at Princess Big Mac.

A fair point, I had not considered that. But I guess you could also argue that because self-harming behaviour is bad, there is that more the reason to have it addressed. But I can also see your point, would Hasbro really be okay with letting their princess pony exhibit such detrimental behaviour in a show geared towards a highly impressionable demographic? Apparently, it seems.

I felt the same way about the "canonification" (<-- probably not a word  ) of Princess Big Mac.  Unfortunately, the surprise had been spoiled for me by a thumbnail.  But as you said, the entire dream sequence was great.

That's a shame that it was spoiled for you. Since it was a dream sequence they could do anything. It was such a great way to mess with the fandom.
