cool, does the extender work very well with a f4.5-5.6 lens? ive heard they only work well with f2.8 lenses

You lose abouta stop of light with it, so need a bright day, also lose auto-focus but i don't mind manual, i read somewhere you can use a piece of tape to over come that but never tried.

I use a Canon EF 100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L IS USM [link] that brings them in closer and keeps things nice and sharp!
