Finally some Luna :3Made it for a friend of mine, I think Luna turned out nicely^^
Edit: Updated to a newer version. Fixed some minor things and added a black frame. This is the version that will be put up and (hopefully) auctioned at Galacon!

Amazing image! Β The mysterious princess of the night studies her lands...
Great job with ambiance! Β Princess Luna looks regal in her armor and the slight smile, with an air of mystery from the cloak and the purple glow to her mane. Β The dark sky is a marvelous work of art in and of itself, with a nice transition from cool blues to a surprisingly bright purple. Β The clouds are excellently drawn, vast stretches of black where the stars cannot be seen, except the edges that are lit by the moon.
However, the best part of this piece, and also the most subtle, is the reflection. Β At first, it just seems a nicely done blurred version of what was above the pond - just the important features of Luna and the moon shine through. Β The moon is nicely distorted by the water. Β Then, you notice Luna's eyes - though her eyes are normal, the reflection gleams with magic, shining brighter than her mane. Β Even more interesting, is the smile of the reflection that is not present in the real Luna.
I personally would interpret this mysterious reflection as a manifestation of the darkness of Nightmare Moon that still resides in Luna. Β (Don't tell me the real thing if its spoilers please! Β I try to keep away from them.)
But yes, this is a superb work of art, with amazing attention to detail and mood. Β Thank you very much for this!

While I agree you used a simple composition, I like the simple composition in this picture! It brings focus to Luna, the central idea in this picture. I love her mane. It is beautiful and glowy...like her eyes
