You can get around that by uploading them in PNG-24 file format.

save them in Photoshop as PNG-24, and all your images will be uploaded in DA as such.
It's a lossless format, so everything you upload will look outstanding even in the largest resolution~

yeah, lighting can make images appear to have artifacts, when it doesn't.
It could also be your lens, though. (hopefully not!)
But no matter what, PNG will always appear cleaner than JPEG. ^_~
