Description
This painting was kind of a breakthrough for me because I had always wanted to try something like this during my time in school, but never actually allowed myself to out of fear of disapproval. This painting is more heavily character-based than the other paintings I've made during my previous semesters in college. All my years in school I've been told not to do that, I've been told that it's too "cartoony" or too "illustration".

Well, I think that I've come to a crossroads. What would I rather do, create art that satisfies other people, or make art that fufills me? I don't want to keep conforming to other's expectations anymore - it's time for me to find out who I really am as an artist. And to all of my peers and professor's that just don't "get it", from now on I'll just have to politely say, "f**k off."
