Description In case no one got the reference, the Bald Eagle is the logo for the US Postal Service.

And if he seems a bit aggressive that's because I drew him to keep myself from murdering my boss. I came home full of steam and adreline, and doing work stuff, like I should have, would have just made it worse.

So, here's an anger-management therapy Bald Eagle. Enjoy!

Coloured aquarell pencils

Nicely done, great detail in the detail in the feathers. I just wish the white more vibrant

Yes, I see what you mean. It seems in part to be a problem that the fixative has with dark paper (I don't see any difference in colour intensity with light paper), but may just also be because of the dark paper itself. Any tips in that direction?

I'm afraid I don't know how to improve that - I actually suffer the same problems.

Maybe there is a special brand of pastels that are actually brighter... like with pencils everyone is going on about primascolours.

Possibly. These are coloured pencils, but I'm not sure I can get Prismacolours easily here...
Plus I think the feathers could have been a bit more densly coloured, that might have helped, too.

Meh, order them over the internet I haven't actually seen them in store where I live either...

Fair enough.

This is really neat, with the black as the paper. I love the coloring of the beak, and the shape is great too

Glad you like it! The beak was difficult - bird's beaks have so many different colours in them.

It turned out really well, how many layers of colors did u do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cwylldren In reply to Blackwolfoffireworks [2010-01-13 07:31:37 +0000 UTC]

....layers?
Well, a base layer of yellow, I guess, and after that I just put the colours in where they seemed to belong. Some areas may have as many as four, but I supposed it's mostly just two, maybe three. I don't consciously layer, just mess around until it looks about the way I want it.

I hate being very angry! It's a horrible out of control feeling for me - so I avoid it as much as I possible can x

Cwylldren In reply to Lynne-Abley-Burton [2009-04-08 06:46:05 +0000 UTC]

Anger actually usually makes me feel rather helpless, because I can't lash out at the cause. Whenever I've lost it enought to do that it's caused me trouble, whereas I know other people who do it and everything's fine.

So I feel powerless and put upon and sorry for myself to boot.

Drawing is better.

Lynne-Abley-Burton In reply to Cwylldren [2009-04-08 09:00:06 +0000 UTC]

yes I nearly always go into self pity when I get angry - sometimes I express it and get it out but I get worried about what I might come out with in anger cos relationships can be destroyed in a few words - so I tend to bottle it up and cry a bit - but sometimes I do shout and swear! LOL x

I usually maul some poor innocent pillow or something... The problem with crying is that ou're not very productive when ou're doing it - and when of the problems is your workload, it doesn't really help...

Yes I shake and cry and people think I am a real wimp - but there can be pure rage running through me at that point! x
