So ... in the midst of burning dvd's and cd's and sending out invoices ... i took a moment to look thru some lab-scans.
i saw this one.
i remembered walking down ... or up ... hmm ... don't remember ... the pier in santa monica. 'twas a beautiful day. we'd had lots of rain and this was the first day which was so typically california and beautiful.
in fact, a los angeles times photographer made a photo of all the people on the beach and the late-midday-sun and the waves and the trees ... all which is so california.
i made a similar photograph.
but ... i liked this one-off.
she looks to be like two or three ... perhaps it's not the first time she's seen the ocean or waves or the throngs of people ...
i remember the first time i was with my daughter when she saw a duck ... a giraffe ... a sunset ...
'twas so cool.
i hope that's what going on in this photo!

This almost made me cry. You've captured the feelings and atmosphere of a daughter and her dad sharing a precious moment together so well. This really reminded me of when I was little and my dad would carry me around like that. And we both loved nature :<3:

I swear I was ready to start crying when I saw this ;w; I used to live in LA and my dad used to take me to the pier so much (at least once a week) and I can't tell you how many times I've been standing right where they're standing. It really strikes the heart, I remembered everything when I saw this picture: the many weekends my dad and I would go to the arcade, the time we spent just staring at the ocean, the school days we'd get to the school entrance and my dad would say: "Want to go to the pier?" and like that no school that day, just a half empty pier all to us.
