I have mostly (4/6) boas but I do have two balls. My friend has a lot of colubrids, milks, bulls and beauty snakes. I just I just find them to...fragile esq. I know they aren't but I like my animals more bulky, they just seem more solid. Plus most colubrids I know have bipolar disorder hahah.

Her bulls and beauties have their moments, her king is actually really calm but i've heard they can be testy at times. I realize its a snake to snake basis I guess i've just read more about colubrids having pissy mood swings lol.

ah, I see then. I've only owned ball pythons, but Sir.cookie seems to be like that...at least...when he hasn't been fed in two weeks...he get grouchy

Yeah both my royals are very chill animals, even at feeding they aren't overly aggressive but I also own the boas so that might be throwing off my opinion of my royals response.

I have two BCI and and two Brazilian rainbows. I frequent a forum with quite a few dumeril boas, they seem very cool, I also like the look of Madagascar grounds boas, look sort of similar but with more color iirc.
There are so many things I would love to add to my group but I think at 11 I have enough pets for now. Though when I get a house we have plans to get a Kimberly Rock Monitor.

I've had mine for almost a year and I haven't had any problems. Their setup can be a bit on the harder side but as long as you have it right you should be fine. Though the reptile zoo around me got a BRB from the same clutch as my two and killed theirs in 2 weeks, so perhaps I got lucky :S.
Monitor is a few years off but we've been planning and will continue to.
