Thanks for the comment. I used a photo in a national geographic magazine as a reference. The best tip I have is study the photo and determine where the dark parts are and where the light parts are. Then in your drawing make sure you make the dark parts really dark and the light parts really light. Sounds simple, but it adds a lot of depth and realism when you have a lot of contrast in your drawing. Hope that helps.
