Description
A sea of ink-bound trees greets me, their roots littering across the world of chaos, love and mortality. The harmony of ghosts and souls…of which I sanctify in my madness- desecrate in my glory. My gaze governs, wavers in the moment and I fall.With eyes hastened shut and the void sparse-interweaving…my lungs filled with oxygen and I choke. Burnt by the sun that lit like fireflies, the arid scent of flesh copper salt and shame consumes the fragments of my conscious still aware…inviting.
I fall asleep amidst my secrets and they lie to me.

This idea has been bugging me for the last few days. I didn't get it out right, though...and I ended up completely remodeling his room from my mental image, but I think this one still works. There should be more bookshelves- more littered, torn pages scattered everywhere.
Um, I really would love a critique. I know the floor bookshelf is off and the perspective was eyed so it's a bit...lacking. Maybe just... what mood does this strike, and do you think it exemplifies Shinya's character, if you know him? If not, what does he seem like?
I'm going to be trying backgrounds more often, so bear with me as I work out the kinks, okay? C:

Jeez. And, well, I know what you mean when something doesn't quite come out the way you'd like it to... but, if you ask me, I think that this piece stands beautifully on its own! Just, I'unno, there's some kinda vague crampedish feel to his room, and the way you colored/shaded this a-and and just the lines and the FEEL of this piece... it's absolutely lovely. ;w;

It's just, I don't know, it's pretty rare that I draw "prepared" pictures so I always feel like I messed up afterwards. I think I like how this one turned out, though. Glad I could at least get the mood across- that was kinda' the whole point of this. XD

about the perspective of the bookshelve...
the line that creates the back/top (against the wall) seems ok, but maybe it should go down a bit on the right side, it should have the same angle as the bed
the front/top of the bookshelve, the right side sould go up (i think thats what makes it off)
front/left corner could also go up a bit
but remember, in a perspective you always have a line that creates the horizon, in this picture it would on the first 1/3 from the top, and in its picture you have two "point de fuite" (Dont know the word in english) somewhere on your horizon and all your lines should go to one or the other...
yeah, it'a pretty hard to explain...
well if you want, i could try to correct your perspective line over your picture, i'll do it in the Paint program, really simple, so you can see what i am tring to explain...

I think you're trying to say 'vanishing point,' if my French is of any worth. But yes, that what I was attempting, anyway. I'm pretty sure my left vanishing point is on a different level than my right one. >_>

And thanks for the comment. I wasn't sure about the sepia, in a way, because it seems to warm, almost...? It's the dust, like him, but I always pictured Shinya a more slate blue. I think I may stick with sepia, though...

Which shelf do you mean? 'Cause I'll admit that bottom one is warped on the right edge. I haven't studied perspective in awhile so I'm not sure about the top ones but I THINK they're right (2-point = weird). D:
