Oh, that's why I haven't heard about him. He's in Germany. I'm in the U.S. and don't encounter many German films on YouTube...it doesn't help that I don't speak German either.

Fun thing is: No one really cares about Werner Herzog in Germany (here, he is usually and thanklessly brushed off as "the crazy director who worked with the even crazier Klaus Kinski"), while in the U.S., he gained literal cult status and his distinct voice can be heard in numerous guest roles, including the Simpsons, Rick And Morty or even Ghibli's The Wind Rises. He also did a ton of non-German speaking movies (like Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale, Invincible with Tim Roth or Queen Of The Desert with Nicole Kidman, just to name a few. Not to mention his splendid documentary features like Grizzly Man or Into The Abyss).
