I always thought that H/L was an interesting and unexplored direction to have taken Harry's romantic relationships, especially during Half Blood Prince and had more of a functional basis than the out-of-left-field kiss in the common room with Ginny.

Yeah, I've become a Luna/Harry shipper overtime; it just feels right to me. She was quirky, but she understood a lot of what Harry was going through, especially during year 5, what with both of them having people die in front of them. She was grounding for him, and a little better than his friends were at drawing him out. Plus, like it was stated, she didn't take his crap when he was pulling it.

I agree so much with you! I hate Harry and Ginny it's just plain weird and I feel like Luna is the only one that could really understand him, and her uniqueness and way of looking at things could make him happy finally. Plus the whole Ginny looks like Lilly thing eeww

Well, I still can't see Luna with Harry, but if I think about it...yes: in the HP books there's not a single one character who got closer to Harry.
When he lost Sirius it was Luna who made him feel better, not ginny. You otice how they get better when you think about the fact that when u put Ginny in front of Harry, you see a gap in experience, in strenght, in age...when you put Luna near him, all of those things are not noticeable (like the fact that he and luna were the only two unharmed at the end of 5th book).
I prefer to think about an unmarried Luna, but if I have to couple her...I'll always stick with harry.

What a wonderful piece. It captures the quintessential romance between two characters who are entirely comfortable with each other and their insecurities.
I agree that the idea of Harry and Luna as a couple is much more sensible, evocative, and interesting. I've actually written some extensive notes and drew a few images of how I envision their children. The epilogue that Rowling provided was quite constricting, and I abhor that she would write such a chapter, only to limit the creativity of fans who clamor to support somewhat boring couples. These peoples could otherwise have been more creative and less vindicative when it comes to defending their support. Hmph... it's satisfying to entertain my own (much more extensive) conclusions.
Anyway, I woud be willing to provide some detail on the children if you're interested. Their names are tenuous... Certainly, I don't think Luna would allow such maudlin names for her children. As of now, for the sake of convenience, I'm referring to them as James and Albus.

Haha, no rush!!! I'm not going anywhere. c: And even when I do, I come back!
Yes, you did! They just make me happy too, thinking about Luna doing something weird, and Harry laughing at how goofy she is, but the whole time it warming his heart. She's just so painfully awkward, but so proud of it, and in his own way, so is he. I love that! Plus yes, she understands him and what he's gone through... The only person who I think really got him like that was Ginny, but he ruined that with the way he treated her like a sister, forgetting what she went through, and then "ERMAHGERD BERBS". It was doomed, in my eyes. That's not to say it's impossible to make work, but it feels weird. Plus the whole "You look like my mom, have my babies and let's name them after dead people." thing just weirded me out SOOOOOoooooo bad. So bad. Luna would gently break to him that living in the past and relying on ghosts is a bad thing. She doesn't do it, neither should he. SOOOOOOO cute... And oh my goodness, yellow eyebrow wedding feels in my heart... lol!!!
And yeah, I actually started a much cleaner Luna/Harry picture, and then doodled this (Because I can't work on one thing at a time, that would be too productive! I actually started ANOTHER drawing too! Serious hard work art makes me go all low attention span. xD), and it was about 1am when I finished... I was like, "Purple looks pretty on blondes! Oh Harry should have a grey hoodie! Yeah looks nice! Lemme shade that... Hmm. Well. It's 1am. .. ... ..... Ah, screw it." xD In retrospect, I should have done a nice yellow or pink. c: Dang hindsight!

Hermione/Harry works incredibly well, and aside from my aching feeling of them being more like siblings than love interests (which is simply a personal feeling, so irrelevant otherwise lol!) I'd totally be cool with them. I've never thought about Luna/Ron, I always thought he figured her daft. xD That's something to ponder over for sure, it'd be interesting to see them interacting!
And I'm going to definitely read that, I love to see the different feelings and thoughts on all of the relationships. I have my ships, but even after all of this time, there are very few I'm actually dead set upon. I lived off of canon for so long, and it just felt wrong, it's wonderful to open my mind up a bit and soak in all of these view points! It's refreshing. c:

So who do you ship Ginny with then, since Harry is with his soulmate Luna? Personally, it's Neville/Ginny for me! They are just... perfect. And there's totally not enough good art of just the two of them in my opinion.

I don't know, I'm still internally debating myself over that. On the one hand, Ginny/Draco has a crazy allure to it. It's kind of terrible, considering what he's said and done to all of them, but at the same time she seems like a bit of a wild person that likes a challenge and could put him in his place. At least, that was what I thought before I just read Ginny/Neville... And now I'm more than reconsidering my previous thoughts. They really DO seem perfect together, thinking about it... Both in the 'outcast' group, and that night at the Yule Ball they could have gotten to know each other a lot better. Though I still think she and Harry needed to happen, since she could get him out of her system that way, since she was hung up on him for so long. But I totally get the warm fuzzies thinking about the two of them... And now I think they are going on my list. xD
