Madeline © me.Everything got screwed on the upload, so something had to be sacrificed (the dress). That'd be the last time I'll do a background with straight lines. Every time I do, something goes wrong.
'Madeline: beautiful, charming and a straight-A student; everything she, Leela, was not. The sister Mummy and Daddy had always wanted for darling Cecile.'
Madeline had been abandoned by both parents and her stepmother doesn't want her around, but she'd tormented Leela for years.

Hi, I saw this in a forum that you requested a critique, so here it is.
First of all I like the dreamy style of this drawing. If this was done in color pencils (like I read in the tags), looks like you've got the patience to soften almost all parts of the painting but not much on the hair that's better stay sharp, which is great.
Regarding the figure/face proportion, I think you've got it all correct too, there doesn't seem to be anything too off. And I love how you drew the hair flowing down, it's not overly dramatic, real pleasant to look at.
A few suggestions for improvement though:
. The background looks too underdeveloped. I think it's okay if you wanted to make the character stood out but with those stiff lines forming some unrecognizable shape (a bookcase?) since there's no clear shadow or better hints for dimension.
. Also for the dress in the background, the foldings are still hard to make sense to be honest, I had to pay very close attention that it's actually a dress put on a mannequin - the pencil line on the mannequin is significantly missing too. For the foldings I'd suggest to copy from a photo reference if you're not sure.
. Honestly though for the character personally I sense some 'stiffness' in the whole drawing, but it's hard to really point out.. but that maybe would improve if you draw often.
Overall I see you've got a certain drawing style, which is very good. You also seem to know a lot about color pencil technique. If you could manage the background to be much clearer (or not at all, only pastel colors surrounding the character, that's probably better than confusing/seemingly incomplete background) I think the drawing would look much better.

Thanks so much for such a thorough feedback! Yep, it's coloured pencil with graphite.
The background and the dress were referenced, but I couldn't 'get' it, so opted for minimal mode. I hate, hate, hate straight lines. I only had the references ( I used three) for a short time (in a library in a country where I don't live).
