Description Carrie from Steven King's story of the same name.

Done in the style of a...fashion design kid's mannequin?
Did this right after rewatching the movie. It's just so sad, scary, and anger-inducing

I drew her without a face since she doesn't seem to really have an identity of her own.

Done in pencil, a Sharpie...and a really cheap red pencil crayon.

Wow~! ^^ Great job! Yes, this movie angered me so much because Carrie was such a sweet, innocent girl until all the teasing began and she learned about her power and used it to kill all who once made fun of her... ;A; Aw! The ending made me cry and her mom had good intentions but could be a real...Er...Female dog! ^^'

Yeah...I used to be teased a lot when I was young (I think it stopped after high school) but it really is horrible. I just had to draw this; it just seemed like the perfect style to draw her in

Aw! I'm sorry! Yeah, I feel your pain. I get made fun of on a regular day basis...Especially since I am full-blooded German and they say that ALL Germans are Nazis...Seriously! I AM NOT A FREAKING NAZI! But anyway...XD Yes, you drew her in such a wonderful style. It really suits her...Perfect~! <3

OMG. I just saw the movie for the first time on Friday...it was so damn sad! I was crying all the way through. And the ending with the hand. Aw, crap, I didn't see that one coming. XD

Anyway. This is awesome. I love your logic about not giving her a face.

I'm glad you like it
Yeah...she doesn't seem to have a face in her school.

(And...I was too lazy to draw her facial features )

Surprisingly the remake (which you should be able to watch on youtube) is pretty good
Children of the Corn...not so much

sopranomonroe In reply to crystal-of-ix [2011-11-13 17:45:48 +0000 UTC]

Well, she sort of does..."that weird girl, Carrie," I guess is how they would label her. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if it goes into detail about Carrie's social life.

I don't usually go for remakes. Especially not with something considered a classic. I don't know, I might watch it someday.

Speaking of Stephen King adaptations, have you ever seen The Shining? I want to, but I'm a bit too chicken. The blood coming out of the elevator really unnerves me. XD

crystal-of-ix In reply to sopranomonroe [2011-11-13 17:48:21 +0000 UTC]

The Shining in my opinion...is a HECK of a lot better than the book.
People will probably shun me for saying that...but the book was SO LONG it was ridiculous
I'd much rather see the movie from a third person point of view than each scene in like 2-3 perspectives

Yeah, I don't want to have to read all four million chapters. As much as I love reading...

Is it really as terrifying as people are telling me?

I also want to see The Exorcist...mainly because Brewmeister Smith is in it! XDDDDDDD No, that's not the reason. Just to see if it'll scare me, considering I'm an atheist, raised Jewish, and don't believe in the devil and such.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

LostSoulOfRyuzaki In reply to sopranomonroe [2011-11-13 19:05:46 +0000 UTC]

The Exorcist is a pychological thriller, and thrillers in my opinion aren't that scary but this one scaried me alot because it is really messed up and terrifing but I do recemend watching it because it is a very well made horror movie with only a few jump scares~!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sopranomonroe In reply to LostSoulOfRyuzaki [2011-11-13 19:52:57 +0000 UTC]

I like psychological thrillers much more than the generic "guy with a chainsaw"-type of horror movies, so I'll probably like The Exorcist. And, maybe this is just me, but some of the scenes look quite funny. Unintentionally, I'm sure, but still.

Should I watch the original one, or the re-release with the added footage? I mean, do the additional eleven minutes add anything to the movie?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LostSoulOfRyuzaki In reply to sopranomonroe [2011-11-13 20:03:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes, classic psychological thrillers amazingly well done. They really mess with your mind to the point you are wondering who is good and who is evil in some cases. The orginal is quite good but I think the re-release adds just a little extra 'oomph' if you will. XD Hope I helped~! <3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sopranomonroe In reply to LostSoulOfRyuzaki [2011-11-13 20:09:04 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't count it as a thriller, but a good psychological movie is "A Clockwork Orange." It really messes around with your head, and makes the audience sympathize with a teenage rapist and murderer! If you haven't seen it, go check it out. It's amazing. The book is also one of my favorites. ^^

But getting back to the Exorcist...my dad claims that it's scarier if you're Christian (or any other religion that believes in the devil), which we aren't. Would you agree with this? Or is it creepy even if you're a "non-believer?"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LostSoulOfRyuzaki In reply to sopranomonroe [2011-11-13 20:31:53 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I have seen A Clockwork Orange. In the begining you dispice Alex and his 'droogs' but then, after all he goes through you begin to from a bond with this terrible criminal! Yes, I must say the book was once one of my many obessions. Yes, my self, being Christian it was pretty dang scary! XD But it is as you say creepy even if you are a "no-believer' I would have to say! XD

After repeated viewings (I was 13 when I was REALLY obsessed with Clockwork, lol) of the movie, I had a fangirl crush on Alex. If that isn't disturbing, I don't know what is!

It looks pretty disturbing. I mean, stuff like Reagan's head spinning around 360* is just so creepy. XDDD

Well, there's no denying that Malcolm McDowell is super hot as Alex. But...yeah, it's kind of weird.

I even made up a girl droog OC to ship with him. WTF. XDDDD She's a fun character to write, though. She's a combination of Sandy from Grease and Harley Quinn from Batman...yeah, that's pretty messed up.

I'll tell you all about my OC because I don't have a life.

I just look like a little kid...Yeah, my dad has seen the movie and din't really care when I talked about it but then my mom found out and went crazy. She searched the movie online, read all about it and grounded me~! XD I got into SOO much trouble...You would not believe...>.< Anyway, yeah, I'd love to hear about your OC~! And forgive me if my english is bad. I'm German! XD

Aww, you think so? Thank you!

XD What was your mom's reaction to the movie? I'd hate to see my mom react to it, haha.

Okay! Here's a picture of her: [link]
And here's a drawing I did of her with Alex: [link]

Her name is Natasha Lewis, and her story is that she's Alex's neighbor and an old girlfriend of Billyboy's. She hangs around with the droogs for a while, but then goes off and finds three other girls to make a gang with, and they call themselves the Devotchkas. Each devotchka is in love with one of the droogs, Natasha being a counterpart to Alex. Later, she marries Alex and they have a son named Malcolm (my friend helped me make him up, and we called him Malcolm partly after Mr. McDowell and partly because we're lazy ).

That's all I have so far. But I'm working on a fanfic about her, so that should be fun.

I've never seen the Exorcist...and probably never will
One you should NEVER read is "Bag of Bones."
Over 700 pages...and BORING AS HELL.
The only reason I'm reading it is because my boss lent it to me
It's like pulling teeth

I think it looks hilarious. There's a scene where the little girl (who was around my age when they shot the film) is stabbing herself in the crotch with a crucifix whilst screaming "LET JESUS FUCK YOU!!!" over and over. It's SO over the top that it's really funny... But if I ever do watch it, I'll probably end up just making a load of Strange Brew jokes every time Max von Sydow pops up.

I think I've heard of that...what's it even ABOUT?

crystal-of-ix In reply to sopranomonroe [2011-11-13 18:10:32 +0000 UTC]

I have NO IDEA!
Seriously...I'm over 180 pages in and all I know is that the guy's wife has been dead for four years, he has writer's block, he goes to an old beach house and falls in love with a girl about half his age
And there's some sort of guy trying to take over the town who sort of reminds me of Max Von Sydow

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sopranomonroe In reply to crystal-of-ix [2011-11-13 18:14:10 +0000 UTC]

A girl half his age? What, is this guy Woody Allen or something? (Yeah, I knock my favorite director. I'm a bad fan. )

Max von Sydow is the definition of a badass guy. Seriously. If someone was taking over YOUR town, wouldn't you rather it be him? XDDDD
