the first thing my eyes are drawn to are the eyes and I see that they are complementary colors, and then the technique used to draw the hair is pretty simple but rarely used and so it gives a sense of originality. the value of the piece is dark overall but you can still see the shadows and the glint in the headband so it tells you that there is a light source in this piece. the focus is on the head of the character and nothing more, showing the confidence and or happiness. the headband makes me think of shinobi and I love ninjas. I think the darks are good (maybe they could go a little darker) but the lights aren't light enough, you should make them a little more lighter, especially nearest the light source (or nearest any light sources if there are more than one). I also think that your lines are a little uncrisp but I do the same thing so eh (shrugs). overall I love the piece and I say keep up the incredible work (^v^)!!
