Description The hills and valleys of the North Yorkshire Moors are criss crossed by hundreds of byways. Some are quite new, some are quite old and some have been adopted and now appear as modern, metalled roads, and some are very ancient and their origins remain shrouded in mystery.

Some byways have almost vanished through lack of use but their courses are still marked by these faithful stones.

This must be one of the luckiest shots you've taken. It's great when all that expense, reading and learning, experimenting, miles driven and walked, being rained on, getting wet feet and bitten by bugs all finaly pays off with a great lucky shot like this one. I wish I was that lucky too.
Great shot Steve............ Lucky sod!

I do feel fortunate.

Like the new picture/avatar/icon/thingy. How cool is that evil cat!? 'Tis the cat of Beelzebub!

Yeah, I was lucky to find a stripy cat with bright orange eyes just when I wanted to photograph one!

What a sky, very dramatic. The grass looks so soft, it is very contrasty if that makes sense and i like it.

Thanks Jackie. As usual, it makes perfect sense. I took this on Thursday and processed it with all the others, yet for some reason forgot all about it. I came across it today and uploaded it.

The clouds look like an eagle's head. A sky I would die for.

Jesus christ.. This shot is amazing, I just love when then picture got more than just a still motive.. Here you've got illustrated power, life, motion, light and a lot of green nature..

Digital retouch?

Hi Ols. Really pleased that you like the pic. Your comment seems quite passionate! I was only focussed on the stone and the sky when I took it, you have pointed out several other things that did not occur to me at the time and now I see it in a different light. Although, to be fair to me I was still high from having a great photo session in Whitby and I was still in one of my favourite parts of the world!

Hehe, this is what you can call a "lucky" shot.. In my oppenion everything is in harmony here, it feels like that everything is placed right and is right for this split second of real time..

Lucky Schmucky! I saw this situation and made the decision to stop the car, get the camera out, attach the tripod, attach the ND grad filters (two needed here!), attach the camera to the tripod, position the ensemble, kneel down (and thereby dirtied my trousers on the wet ground), decide which aperture to use, decide upon which exposure to use and then take over thirty pictures at various exposures and compositions! (not to mention any post-processing).

I can't wait for you to buy your first SLR!

Nah, me either..

I've been reading reviews of different cameras and really tried to find out what camera I should aim for.. Both Nikon and canon have pretty good offers..

I've got a little plan for tommorrow early, to take som pics before school.. So let's see what that brings out..
