I'm not convinced that GrimDark is essentially a 'manic' thing - while it certainly ties into the whole 'terrifying madness' thing, I think from what we know of Grimdark Rose, it's more of a 'terrifyingly stoic and uncaring' sort of thing. Rose didn't give a damn about finding her murdered mother (gotta find Jack), and while she showed some fondness towards John, she mostly just seemed ANGRY. I suspect that sharing your head with horrorterrors gives you more of a detached alien consciousness/horrifyingly berserk rage type of madness, rather than the 'gibbering mania' that's suggested by your work.

oh, don't worry, you are certainly not the first person to have pointed that out, haha. uvu i'm aware that i don't portray grimdark very canonically, but if people like them...shrug?? i have a few headcanons about the effects of horrorterrors on other dreamers, which explains my portrayals of grimdark on the prospitian characters, but for the derse kids...yeah i'm dumb.
