Description I was inspired to do this drawing after a reading a book called, "Iron Soldiers: A Story of Arms and Armour". The book contained a lot of information about how medieval armour is made and how it works, there were also neat diagrams of armour parts. So I drew a set of plate armour myself . I do realise that the chest plate is usually in one piece and protects both the chest and abdomen and there are probably numerous other errors in the armour I drew, seeing as I wasn't actually using a reference at the time (which I should have ).

The lineart was done in B pencil and the shading was done with a 6B pencil. This took about 90 minutes to do overall.

Great details!
Those old-time suits of armour were awesome, eh?!

Yeah, although this fellow's right arm appears to be too thin, I can't believe that I didn't notice that before . Anyway, those suits were pretty awesome and they were some pretty impressive technology for the 15th century (armour hadn't developed in to full body plate armour until around this time).
