Woohoo! Finished it! Happy with it! Especially the glow and subtle shadows in the middle...
Fitz and Nighteyes are lying in the cave, dreaming their last hunt together.
Nighteyes's death is so beautifully written...
Partly done for a calendar contest on , partly because this scene has been in my head for close to a year...

This is a great illustration...I shed a few tears myself for the wonderful Nighteyes, and I would consider myself a non-emotional type person.
Just looking at this makes me remember how sad and beautiful it was when Nighteyes died...

omg, this scene made me cry!!!
i had to reread the page to absorb it all, so sad and yes, soooo beautiful. she writes like an angel! nighteyes was my fav character and this is great, love the shadowy figures of them in bg.... the reoccuring theme of the wolves howling whenever fitz nears death is brill. FOR YOUR ART I LOVE YOU!!!

Oh wow, it is really beautiful and very well done! You're right about the glow and the shadows, they are cool . I'm in love with the winter trees and the snow in gneral, and the rocks came out real good. Dear sis', I'm so glad you finished this piece, I know how long you've been planning it (that little model was adorable!

Nothing to do anymore with the plasticine model I had last summer though... well actually I think I only changed the point of view up to the entrance of the cave... oops and the forest too. Anyway, it's closer now to the image I had when reading the book, so that's fine.

Oh and I forgot about the trees fading in the background. Very real, foggy wintery, yet mysterious.
