Background:

Angela Boxler was born into heroism, as her mother Kristiana was the keeper of the magical Sapphire gem that granted her incredible powers and allowed her to defend Europe as the original super heroine Sapphire. During child birth, there were complications that almost led to the loss of Angela, and the magical gem that had bonded to her mother's soul intervened, using its powers to save Angela's life. While this led to Kristiana losing her powers and abilities, she nurtured her daughter and taught her how to use her newfound powers at an early age, preparing her for her eventual destiny. After university, Angela served for 8 years in the Swiss Armed Forces, reaching the rank of Sergeant Major while serving in the field as a medic and general surgeon. Following her military service, she joined a travelling medical service where she met Jasmine Patel, Alexa Flores, and Layla Asheera, often teaming up with them as they brought medical aid to third world countries across the globe and assisted WHO with other hot spots. Angela also began to establish herself as Sapphire, though she started slowly as she felt her way through the world of heroics. Eventually more heroes began to emerge across Europe, in addition to more powerful villains, and Angela found herself deep in the battle against the forces of evil, a battle that would lead her into finding many new allies, along with a newfound love for her fellow heroine Show Stopper. Realizing the special bond she shared with Monica Corbyn, Angela eventually moved to London and started a small medical clinic there for the less fortunate.

Powers and Abilities:

Physical Strength and Durability - Being bonded with the Sapphire gem has granted Angela enhanced strength and super human durability. She can lift up to 10 metric tons and her body is incredibly durable, capable of surviving explosions and high powered military grade ordinance. This durability comes at a cost, as while the gem can heal her injuries, it is not at a very rapid pace and given Angela's heroic nature and hardheadedness, she will often stay in a fight instead of retreating. This has led to her getting into trouble with more powerful villains.

Enhanced Flight and Speed - Angela can fly and has a maximum in atmosphere speed of around 600 MPH. She can also move quite quickly on foot, with a top running speed of 70 MPH.

Magical Energy Manipulation - Angela can use the powers of her Sapphire gem to create magical energy blasts from her hands and energy beams from her eyes, and she can also summon a small magical force field to protect herself for a short period of time.

Magical Healing - While she doesn't possess a rapid healing factor, if given time, Angela can focus her powers in her hands and use them to heal wounds and injuries, allowing her to heal herself or another person. This ability leaves her vulnerable as it requires a good deal of concentration.

Gadgets and Medical Supplies - Angela wears a utility belt that is packed full of useful gadgets and medical supplies.

Costume:

Angela's costume consists of a blue bodysuit that zips up the middle, paired with all black accessories, including over the knee boots, elbow length gloves, cape, utility belt, and finally her mask. Her suit is made from a durable synthetic leather material that provides a good amount of protection from damage, and while using her powers, it shimmers with a light bluish energy aura.

Data file for my new OC Sapphire, who joins a fun emerging group of European heroines.

An idea I've had in mind for awhile for a simple 2-color costume heroine that is more along the lines of the blaster archetype from COH, possessing a bit of strength, but mostly using energy blasts/manipulation for her primary powre set.

Angela Boxler/Sapphire, Monica Corbyn/Show Stopper, Layla Asheera, and Alexa Flores are my OCs and may only be used with my permission.
