Say hello to my latest creation!!

Astrid the lion of violets!

Astrid was inspired by the beautiful Pansies and violets that have been popping up all over the place with the welcoming warmth of spring! I had such fun making him! I’ve been itching to make a realistic big cat sculpt for a long while now and I am so happy with how he turned out!! I already want to make another one but this time maybe a tiger!

Astrid is a one of a kind handmade artwork made entirely from scratch by me, I hand sculpted his head and feet onto a poseable wire frame that I then covered in quilt wadding and faux fur before painting and detailing him with fine brushes and acrylics!!
I also applied a small Swarovski element topaz to his forehead along with a coating of faerie dust shimmer as a final touch!!

I do not use moulds casts or patterns each creation is made from scratch and is one of a kind!

Work is signed, comes with certificate of Authenticity.

Approximately 13inch tall from paw to back.
Approximately 38inch long from nose to tail tip.

Excuse me, how did this come up for quilt art? Should be obvious it I would see quilts but these show up of the first to see pictures of such.

A lot of Art doll artists not just myself state in the discription of their work the supplies used to make their creatures, either to inform others who may have allergins to these materials or to simply help others get started in this form of art.
One such material myself and a lot of other doll artists use is Quilt wadding. We use it to pad up our soft sculptures so their bodies are soft but still poseable
All of my works posted are either in the Art doll or miniatures categories so I can't really help if my work or other works pop up in the search bar or not.
