If it's a christmas ornament, where is the snow when it is tipped upside down? XD

I was aiming at more of a glass ornament look, rather than a snow globe.

I didn't know that. But...it's just the roundness.

I was using my memories of ornaments hung on the christmas tree of many years ago. Most were made of a thin glass, hung on the tree by a small metal hanger made of a springy round wire clip (similar in shape to the Greek letter Omega) and a small metal cap to cover a glass stem on the ornament. I still think this style of ornament is available in stores.

Drawing a snowglobe with a trapped mermaid inside would be fun also (at least for me, not so for the mermaid )

Probably not available here anymore though. XD

Health & Safety Executive decrees that glass baubles and other tree decorations made of glass are too dangerous to be bought in the shops and hung within easy reach of toddlers.

I however, find smashing little glass baubles up-side of my wall very amusing. XD. Just as long as a poor little mermaid isn't inside of it then the RSPCA won't bother me. XD.

I LOVE THIS IDEA. If mermaids exsisted, and they were that tiny, I could actually see humanity doing something along those lines. Very original.

Yea, probably so. I'm not certain how original the concept is. I've seen mermaids drawn splashing around in martini glasses, fish bowls, etc, so an ornament isn't all that different.

Well, yeah, but I've never seen one in a christmas ornament. I guess It just stuck me as original. ANyway, I still enjoyed it.

Did a image websearch, didn't come across any pictures that had a mermaid suspended in a glass ornament. As far as the web goes, it seems original. Thanks again for the comments.
