I've often wanted to draw an intricate design on one of my animal drawings ever since I've seen artwork like this: creative-dreamr.deviantart.com… . I decided to finally give it a try with a dragon.

Originally, I wanted to make the markings gold, but silver showed up the best against the purple. I love how the dragon turned out and feel that the combination of different purples came out so beautifully^^(Course, purple is my favorite color). For some reason, though, my scanner made the purple on the dragon's body come out "cooler." I used a florescent dull violet copic marker for the body and it's a warmer shade of purple. Ah well, still looks beautiful. For the silver markings I used a faber-castell silver marker.

Drawn with pencil, inked with pen, and colored with topic marker, Marvy Le Plume II watercolor marker, faber-castell silver marker, and white gel pen on white smooth bristol paper.
