Thank you for taking the time to write a critique. Not many people bother. So, to answer your questions and comments within the critique:
1) The rocks in the foreground are slightly blurry, but IMO does not take away from the photo. When looking at the image, the two rocks that are at the very edge of the foreground do not immediately draw your attention. What draws your attention first is of course the archway and the light coming through, then your eye starts to wander from there.
2) I took multiple shots, but not in the sense of shooting HDR or making a composite image. This image is neither a composite nor an HDR. I took multiple shots from various positions, trying to get an angle on the light that I liked, and getting my exposure time nailed. It was difficult because there was not much light hitting the wall.
3) You asked also why the rocks in the background are sharp and crisp and not the foreground... again that goes back to my focal point being set to the archway.
4) The aperture was at 5.6 and I did a 30s exposure, but yes I could have done it at 8 or 22, however the longer exposure (and yes I do have a remote... any professional should have a remote) would have produced (and did produce because I have a couple 2 minute exposures) an effect other then what I wanted. At the longer exposure the suns rays didn't come through the arch like I wanted, and the light bouncing off the water was not quite right. The image became flat and kind of dull at the longer exposures. If you go and look at some of my other oceanscapes, you'd know that I do indeed know how to get the "misty" ocean effect, but thanks for the longer exposure suggestion anyway
5) I do not see an "odd green hue" above the rocks on the right hand side... I see a "mist" area (not green on my calibrated monitor) that was caused by a wave or two splashing up against that rock in the background... but nope, don't see a green hue...
6) Crop - I played with the crop a bit per your suggestion, but I ended up not really liking the results. I appreciate the idea though.
Anyhow, I'm glad that you do like the image, and I appreciate the fact that you took the time to critique the image. I hope I didn't come across as a jerk in my responses, I only meant to point out the reasons for why I did what I did. One has to work with what nature gives him/her and that is what I did.
Cheers,

Awesome! Glad to hear it... I love learning and I love teaching... I think that if one doesn't have an open mind they can neither learn nor teach... so I always welcome suggestions and I always offer some in return
Have a good one.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I used a long exposure, and I knew that the sunset rays would come through the arch. I had about a 20 minute window to work, and took several shots. This ended up being the best of all of them.
Cheers,
