According to this one site - "I think it DOES stand for 'Kentucky Fried Chicken' and for a deeper reason; to lightly mock the older, gay men that would try to pick him up, and to 'sign' to the brighter ones that he is 'not available', without having to cause embarrassment to someone or to hurt feelings......
In the parlance, 'chicken', refer to attractive 'hawt' young men, and 'chicken hawks', refer to the older guys that would pick them up...

No way is 2-D adverse to gay men and no way is he a homophobe.
