I'm not normally a fan of tender-first shots, but needs must and at least the sun was out. 1944-built GWR 'Modified Hall' No. 6960 'Raveningham Hall' on a train from Minehead approaches Crowcombe Heathfield on June 24, 2015. This is a short level section before entering the station.Related content

You're right in that she was the second Modified Hall but 'The Book of the Hall 4-6-0s' (Ian Sixsmith) doesn't say anything about her being a prototype. She wasn't named until 1947.
