Description Part II of my AVH Color Guide series. This one covers Agouti modifiers (Bay, Seal Brown, and Wild Bay), champagne dilutes, simple dun dilutes, simple cream dilutes, simple silver dilutes, and the bizarre color that is flaxen.

Keep in mind that this is not necessarily an accurate representation of how real equine genetics work--it was created to help AVH players better understand how color genetics work in the game.

The next (and last) color guide will go over homozygous Creame dilutes, complex combo dilutes, complex silver dilutes, and "extremely" complex dilutes (Perlino Dun, Classic Cream, and Gold Cream). Stay tuned!

Didn't this game, in its early stages, actually allow you to 'fly' over your horses in a 3D 'world' and interact with them?

No idea. I didn't start playing 'til a couple years ago and haven't been active at all for about 6+ months. I believe there was an earlier version that didn't have as many breeding restrictions, but I've never heard of a 3D world or map. There are lots of horse SIMs out there though, so I wouldn't be surprised if such a thing exists or existed on another site.

May I ask what AVH is?

It's a browser-based SIM game, focusing on the raising, training, buying, selling, and breeding of over 100 real-world horse breeds and fantasy breeds (like unicorns and pegasi), with a complex genetics engine that includes markings, patterns, colors, and "rare" crossbreeds (like, say, a French Saddle Pony).

I have 11 stables, with 1 main stable still active where 19 breeds of Dressage horses are trained and bred. Three other stables sell "rescue" horses that I pull from abandoned accounts and possess specific traits and specs (i.e. being "well bred"). A fourth is for rescued stallions over the age of 16, where they're rehabbed and put up for public stud until they retire.

AVH has beautiful 3D animated horse images for every single breed, with noticeable differences between Arabians and Clydesdales, etc. Each horse has it's own profile page that lists it's name, who owns it, how many XP points it has, what level it is currently at, it's color, gender, breed, what tack it's wearing, what shows it is currently entered into, how many skill points it has and where those are distributed, it's pedigree, history, offspring, and more.

I am, obviously, quite obsessed with it. It's by far the best browser-based horse SIM (or any animal SIM) that I've found, and I've tried a lot of them. You can play the game competitively without putting any real money into it, and you can spend game currency ("coins") to purchase credits, which in turn purchase special items and privileges that are otherwise purchased with real money.

I highly recommend it.
