I'm ready. Gimme dat finale. I've been waiting all season for a resolution to the Starbrat Glimmer story arc.HNNNNG.

Starbrat is still a brat though. Just saying.
Makes me curious where they're going to take the story next, now that she's in the fold.
I wish they were allowed to make a season long adventure story arc. Hasbro is whack man, they don't realize how much they could cash in on it. Some of the most successful televisions series have continuous story arcs because viewers become emotionally invested in the outcome for characters.
Hasbro's corporate environment could be restructured so their vision is unified in terms of the content they produce and the products they sell. Like if the toy design and marketing departments had meetings with the producers/directors/writers of the show to learn about the story behind their intellectual property. I think the corporate lingo is... SYNERGY, riiight? Right. Yo Hasbro, work on your synergy-- let the creative types to do what they do best. Β
Like MLP has the potential to be a Western "Hello Kitty"; do you know that, Hasbro? Do you know how enormous the "Hello Kitty" brand is, Hasbro? You know what Sanrio has that you don't? Quality graphic designers for their products and marketing. Art/Design matters.

Starbrat has yet to win me over.
I still want Sunset Shimmer to join the crew. That better happeeennnnnnnn. Plz. Pretty plz.

part 1 of the episode was awesome, I just really hated the outcome... starlight's "conversion" seemed too easy... also twilight is starting to really get on my nerves. She's been acting weaker and more defenseless lately, just like celestia

It was cool, but it felt like a huge buildup to not a great effect. Β Maybe it's because I was reminded of "Meet the Robinsons," but I KNEW they were going to travel back and see Starlight's past (which both was and was not taigan-bxe.tumblr.com/post/116β¦ >what I expected.
But I thought Twilight was going to fix her past so she didn't grow up to be such a beyatch. Β

I thought her backstory fell a little flat. Like it could have explained her fear of cutie marks a little more succinctly... "my friend got a cutie mark then disappeared" doesn't feel like it's a strong enough trauma to push her over the edge into an Orwellian totalitarian leader. Like maybe it would have been better if her backstory included her cutie mark origin story; it'd make more sense to do that if she was joining the group in the end (since the mane crew's origin stories are integral).Β
Like, if Twilight used the spell to go back to when Starlight got her cutie mark and gave her hope for a bright future... thus averting the whole fiasco.Β
But good guys aren't supposed to mess with timelines... Consequences... etc. Also, "just go back in time to change others" isn't a good moral for kiddies. Hahaha.Β
Mostly I'm jazzed about the sweet scenes of the dystopian futures.Β

Distopias were fun, but I think my favorite moments were where Starlight would mess up the past by being nice and Twilight was like " No! Bully that filly! You make her feel like trash! Β .. Wait."
