Description
"Obi-Wan. Have you done as I asked? Have you trained the boy?""Master Qui-Gon? How are you here?"
"I am here because you are here."
Obi-Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka find themselves stranded on Mortis, a place where the effects of the Force are amplified. Three beings there are seeking the 'Chosen One', each for their own purpose. Taking shelter during the night, the spirit form of Qui-Gon warns Obi-Wan of the danger they may be in.
Inspired by the events that took place on Mortis during the Clone Wars.

I was really mad when I saw this. No "Hey, Obi-Wan, how are you?" NO, everything is about Anakin (I dont like Anakin at all).

I like how you drew them closer to their movie forms! I LOVED seeing Qui-Gon's ghost. They actually got Liam Neeson to come back and do the voice!

That was a great trilogy story arc, I can't wait to see what they'll do next. I hope that we'll get more moments like that in future seasons of the series.

I was SO annoyed by the DVD... there was a bonus feature called "Secrets of Mortis," which was them explaining why they're NOT going to tell us what it all means!

The feature was quite short on the Blu-Ray version too. They could at least go a bit more indepth on what happened during that meeting with GL and also more on the behind the scenes production even if they were going to avoid talking about what it means. Hopefully they will revisit some of that and shed some more light on the subject with this upcoming season.

Hmm... now you got me wondering...
It could be a symbol, a metaphor for those superweapons.... by going for the dagger to stop the Brother that way, they had unwittingly 'unleashed' a powerful weapon that they couldn't control...
Also with the death of the 'light', it tipped the scale to the 'dark'... and through the death of the 'Chosen', taking the 'dark with it, balance was finally restored.
There's so many different ways it could be taken and that reminds me that there was a bonus segment on the Saga Blu-Ray, relating to Empire Strikes Back, one of the footage is a recording from one of TCW production meetings where GL goes indepth about the Force... that was pretty deep and made me wish they had more of that on TCW features.

I actually had a theory about the Dagger symbolizing Anakin to a degree, but for that to work Overlords wouldn't tie in to the trilogy at all, Altar of Mortis would be all 3 prequels, and Ghosts of Mortis would be the originals.
I'm still trying to figure out where Ahsoka getting possessed ties into the symbolism...

There is a bond between Anakin and Ahsoka, so what happened to Ahsoka is connected to Anakin. Now you got me thinking about those events.... she was taken by the son and chained up as a prisoner... the creature had created about an opening in her defences by causing some doubt and then possessed her. She was acting as a pawn of the son and when she was of no use to him, he killed her. Through the daughter and the power of the light, Anakin resurrected Ahsoka.
One theory could be that what happened to Ahsoka is a metaphor to how Anakin Skywalker survived inside Darth Vader and through the love of his son and his own death was her released from his imprisonment. That's one idea but then several other possibilities are coming to mind... argh. This is what I love about the series, I think that is why they chose not to give everything away so that others can interpret different meanings from their own "point of view".

It would be great if they do explain it but don't think they will... or if they do then it won't be as indepth as hoped. I remember hearing on an interview with Dave Filoni that they want to keep some things open to interpretation and speculation rather than give the answers to what we had seen.
Also, some answers might not be the ones we want to know.

That's true and we shouldn't have too long to find out, apparently they will be showing the opening episode of Season 5 at Celebration VI. It would be great if they release the dvd/blu-ray set of Season 4 before the 5th airs.

What I love about the DVDs/Blu-Ray is that we can watch it from back to back without ads than having to wait weekly for the next part of the story arc.
Where I live, it's hard to know when and where they will air the seasons. Before it started on one network and stopped after the first season, then a network that I don't have started airing it but now it is on a different one. It's frustrating.

You are right, that would have saved a lot of trouble. With Palpatine, master mind behind the Clone Wars, gone... that would be interesting to see how things pan out. Dooku might be redeemed and a new Chancellor would take his place... would it be Bail Organa or Padme Amidala? Peace be brought back to the galaxy but would the Republic function properly or would it still be corrupted and inefficient at making progress?

Haha, it's cool. I got S4 on DVD for X-mas, and I'm working on watching it.
I can't wait for "A Friend in Need"... I know something that happens to Ahsoka...
