The most contreversial topic of our times. Personally I think both of them can cancel each other out. Both of these feelings exist in the heart and can be toyed around with. I like it how you've represented it with thorns. Shows that something as lovely as a rose does however have thorns in it. Deep real deep

Yeah, your right. Thats kindof what I imagine hell like, but without stars. No one with you, eternall emptiness, not even the presence of god, witch is with us on earth wether we think so or not. Its fitting that you portrayed hate that way, hell is kindof the inverse of hate, its complete indeference by every one and every thing.

Well, I don't think either will win.
To be all deep and stuff I'd have to say that both emotions are so strong that they can equal each other out.
See, stick two people together that love each other deeply.
Then throw in something unexpected and terrible. Something that will make them mad at each other.
Then watch how fast love turns to hate.
Now, stick two people together that despise each other.
If they stay with each other long enough they will either A. fall in love or B. become very good friends.
It just happens that way. The emotions are so strong that they are carefully linked.
Love and Hate are the main emotions in the human body.
Pain is there, and thats also strong, but its normally linked to one of those two.
