Well, have you ever looked at the sun in a foggy winter morning? You still know it's the sun and it kinda brings a little bit of warmth but even the sunlight appears to be cold and dimmed. I always pictured Valerya as someone connected to frost and ice but at the same time warmth suits her personality much better.
