So naughty and inviting, naive and sexy. Please tell me she has no clue what's by her sexy socked feet. Or maybe she does and wants to toy with the idea and tease it and see where it goes. Gosh I'm so jealous this is amazing ❤️

What was it that Brian Van Hoose once said about playing Call of Cthulhu? I believe it was something like 'never, EVER read the books!' It would appear as though our little busy-body allowed her curiosity to get the better of her.
I'm not sure what's going on in this picture. But in my mind, she has found some eldritch, forbidden lore. Throwing caution to the wind, she recklessly peruses this grim tome to glean what forgotten knowledge she may. She pauses for a moment of reflection, lost on a train of thought. It is a dangerous subject, however. As she fits together the pieces of long suppressed truths that haunted our forebearers for time immemorial, she fails to notice the hidden danger lurking right at her feet. Slowly...silently...the threat advances. None may know, and this one must be eliminated. She meddled in things that man must leave alone...
OK, now for the analysis. The girl is pretty, of course. But in an image like this, she does not get the top billing, so despite the quality of the drawing I will leave her alone for now. The star is our largely hidden friend reaching out from under her desk. I do like when we have a setting like this where we only receive a glimpse of this unseen, lurking horror. The tentacles writhe, they twist and reach out not only in hunger, but a barely restrained anger and loathing for humans. I like how these tentacles are not the even, perfectly tapered tentacles of something as benign as an octopus. No, instead, these are the dire appendages of an otherworldly being. It is not perfectly symmetrical and I can only image how wonderfully grotesque the rest of it must appear.
The seat and desk make me wonder as to the setting. It does not appear to have the kind of look of an overlooked library that has been collecting rare works for so long that it would have such a manuscript as this, but I could be mistaken. Perhaps instead she recovered the book from a mysterious seller in some black market of the middle east and has brought it back to her apartment.
What captures my attention most is the book--I just love the look of this ancient grimoire. It very much reminds me of Raimi's version of the Necronomicon from Army of Darkness, with the disturbing visuals and the cryptic characters seemingly describing some lost rites. This is not the trained writing of someone on ruled paper. It is not the perfectly scribed collection of harmless notes as taken down by a monk or a scholar. This is more like the feverish scrawling of someone who has recently experienced something ghastly, possibly only moments before his life was taken from him. I can practically hear the crackle of the musty pages and hear whispers of warning spoken by dead men as she ignores them to continue reading.
And as I take in this picture in its entirety, it speaks of the calm only moments before the brutal storm.
But that's just my impression.

One hell of an impression. You should see some of the other images I have compiled for my Kickstarter graphite book of mind blowing art. Over 144 pages of pencil illustrations including my best Cthulhu works to date!
thanks for being a great purveyor of stories most grim.

I don't see it. Is this something that will be released in the near future? I generally only search KS for wargaming miniatures, but I did end up funding Wasteland 2.
