PC Jack Everett Douglas has decided to flee from the gruesome expedition. Unwilling to leave the only member of the group he actually has some sympathies for, PC Hans Dietrich von Riedel, completely in the dark he leaves a note to explain his motivation and repeat his warning from the previous night which the former officer of the Prussian army has tried to dissuade him of.

"Too bad that I couldn't convince you not to go to the Pyramid. It will mean your death. You're too much of an idealist, but I met few people like that before. Thank you for everything and good luck! Jack"
