This reminds me of my character Ravil, who spent a brief while blind . . . and his wife kept sweetest care of him. She'd lead him around, speak softly to him, keep touching his arm or holding his hand so he wouldn't feel lost . . .

Yeah, I have a couple of blind characters. I could see Kestrel putting on a blindfold too, since his eyes look strange and he can see through it anyhow.

I'm gonna put my characters and plotline of my story Baseline into a novel-like format but dub the chapters as 'episodes'

I have Ren, who is blind . . . Kes who doesn't see light, but sees energy. Magic, life, and heat. Rav who's had one eye forcibly removed, and finally the guy who want shi other eye is dead. There's Rishi who accidentally took out one eye when he woke up with two-inch claws, that was bad. Ummmmm . . . I can't think of anyone else right now. But I have so cheesing many characters it's not even funny. These should be all the blind/half-blind ones. Probably. Until someone else loses an eye -- it happens a lot.

that is true. Soldier lost her eye...well...rather the optic of it. Later on the story she fights an old former comrade, the one who betrayed her, and turns out he took her eye and now uses it as his own with use of technology, alchemy, and gee gray. During the fight, he's able to predict her movements a few seconds before she executes them due to that being her own eye. Figuring out the eye is still connected to her through a flaw in gee gray, she takes off her eye patch and the two are put on an even playing field since it is her eye in his socket and she can use it the same way he used it against her.

Ren isn't the one -- that's Ravil.
Kes -- it's . . . actually the product of scientific experimentation. On 'illegal children,' who became lab rats. He's helpful in the dark except that he can't see cool things that aren't alive or magical. Like, um, walls. Yeah. Problem. But you don't sneak up on him, no sir.
Rav -- Yes, he had a torture master who was instructed to "punish" him for unpleasant deaths and the possession of excess magic. This guy likes to do psychological torture, and taking Rav's eye (and then using every opportunity to whack him on the blind side) was very good torture.
Rishi -- he was in a magical accident that merged him with a snow leopard . . . yeah. And when he woke afterward he went to rubs his eyes and wipe an eyelash away and . . . well, that hurt. But yes.
Wow. Creepy. Ghost eye. Just . . . wow.

I got a character for a different story thing called Catacombs, she's not blind but she was a failed termination. She wasn't properly aborted, instead she was developed in a lab tank which induced physical enhancements while in the 'womb' capsule. After released from the tank she was to be sold to an assassins guild for training/raising, but she was intercepted by a compassionate doctor and he sent her to live with his friend in the country
Rav- talk about cruel, but I guess he was guilty right?
Seiko's blindness is the result of a curse. He was a samurai turned assassin who was hired to kill a mystic. During the first bout, her bodyguard managed to defeat him and cut off his right arm so that he may no longer wield a weapon of hate and destruction. Seiko felt denied the victory that should have been his and so trained himself to wield a katana in the left hand. He went after her again and managed to kill her bodyguard. She fought him and defeated him. She asked him why he had so much rage in his heart and tried to advise him of how dangerous living a life that only lives to kill can be. He blows her off so as a result she cursed him with 'the sight of truth'. He will forever be blind until he sees the darkened path to which he has lived on, admits it, and comes to terms with it that it was time to change. If/when he gets that realization he'll see again, and see the world in a new light. But he's a stubborn jerk and so he blindfolded himself saying that he 'chooses to be blind'...kinda trying to fool himself

Experimenting on humans . . . good story fodder, creepy.
Rav . . . the only reason he killed is because he has magic that's significant;y stronger than him. His father, who has less magic, lost control and destroyed an entire country, so Rav having killed a group of bandits that were pursuing him with intent to torture him and rape his wife . . . well . . . if it hadn't been magical, no one would have thought, but the magic scares people.
Seiko . . . sad . . . but . . . hey, well, if he's being stubborn. No, I lie, I am too sympathetic to callously blame.
Yeah, and when Rishi woke his little 8-year-old niece was beside him. She panicked because he was bleeding, and nearly fell off the bed, and so he jumped to catch her, but his claws scratched her when he did -- not badly, but enough that she got scared and ran out of the room. So he ran away, sure he was a menace to all things good and true. It's really sad.

Seiko- he likes to talk others down and be unsympathetic, but in the end he does get his sight back

Hee. He doesn't like to bite, but when you take an injured animal and talk to it and walk it into a corner and try to touch it . . . well, what can ya do? He just doesn't LOOK like a leopard, zigactly . . . so it's like "Um . . ." and he's acting/thinking like one.
I'ma sucker for cute happy too . . . you should see Rav with his son in my RP with ~Liesa-Orlea . . . his son Rahlin is the cutest ting since button mushrooms, I swear . . . and they're darling together. Rav left for a week and Rahlin cried himself to sleep every night asking for his daddy.

At first we learned jus driving down our dirt lane then we got to practice more on the paved roads the lead down to Stilson. Back then my Mom and I took care of her parents and she'd lemme drive back and to across 13 miles
You can ask your parents that you wanna start learning to drive now and jus do it on deserted/low traffic highways
only rule we had was that neither my brother nor I were allowed to drive in Savannah till we turned 19

Some mothers dun want their babies flying the coop too quick ^^ I know mine was all pins and needles the first day I drove by myself, she called my cell like 5 times
well...I was actually ill on my 15th birthday and didn't get my learner's until that May. Law states ya have to have you're learners for a year before recieving you're permanent license, which is traditionally on one's 16th b-day
At any rate, I studied the written test for weeks and I actually went for my learners on the same day and preppy girl that didn't like me did. I did ace it
My precise words after finding my results (my mom, dad, and bro were there with me cause I was nervous
the prep failed her test cause she thought she could ace it without studying at all except the day of the test 
She did get it eventually though
My real license I got driving the jeep through the obstacle course around the dmv. Featuring parallel parking, sharp turns, etc. etc.
Luckily a girl from school was there to get hers too so we kinda hung out till the tests started....I was soooo lucky that I got a nice officer cause I made a few minor mistakes and she overlooked em cause she knew the pressure was slightly messing up my performance.
Parallel parking did fantastic
I was so exstatic after she said I based with a high B average I hugged the officer! 
I'm thinking some time in the future I'll try out for a motorcycle's license
