Description
So i found out today that my laptop, which should have been easily fixed for free, is now void of its warranty because they found corrosion on the motherboard due to water damage.This is particularly frustrating because i've never actually spilled water into my computer, in fact, i've never taken the rubber keyboard cover off it since they day i bought it.
Im still going to hopefully get my data back, but now ive got a fairly worthless macbook pro
So i drew this.. to vent. XD

i know it probably doesnt help but to offer at least an explanation, a lot of electronic components can be liquid damaged through condensation. where i live is quite a hot and humid environment and we see it all the time. I know i've killed a mobile phone though working in a cold airconditioned office all day then taking the phone outside. It's just bad luck really. The only thing you can really do to prevent it is make sure that it is off for a short while during rapid changes in environment. Sadly, leaving the rubber protector on the keyboard would have trapped any moisture inside and sped up the process. I never keep my equipment in a case that doesn't allow it to breathe.

Thats what i'm thinking happened, if thats really the case, cause i noticed the rubber cover was damp when i put it on my bfs laptop one day, though it had never been so obvious with mine. So in the end they still screw you over somehow! D: I really hate not having my laptop.

Just whatever you do don't cheap out and buy a windows machine in the interim or you will have hell to pay with colour management

umm to be completely honest the base model 13" white macbook is more than enough unless you are into large scale gaming, and the colour profiling is set up for you straight out of the box.

i feel for you there. i have a lot of nice toys and a gargantuan debt to accompany them but they make me happy so....
Do you sell your art? i know of a few people here who make a pretty solid income and they aren't as good as you imo.

Yeah, im at that point too where i feel like im going to be moving in a year and i dunno if it'd be better to buy a desktop and meh, i guess i'll just use my bfs laptop till that dies off XD
Yunno, i do, though i've never had any luck selling on DA for some reason, too young an audience i suppose. I'll definitely be saving up though, i certainly do miss my mac.
