I can't believe that he's done. He's so cute <3Saranyu is a homemade BJD, made of air drying modeling clay. He's been created, designed, sculpted and painted by me, the wig and eyes have been bought.

I'm sure that there will be the option to do that in the near future. Not from me,but from regular doll companies. I have seen a work in progress of a Naga doll somewhere recently. If only I could remember where. >.<

I was just curious as to how well the clay is holding up a year on.
I'm bust making a doll, but I won't be able to cast her in resin seeing as how I live in a country where I wouldn't be able to get a hold of any without importing.
I'm scared that the clay itself will just disintegrate in time though...

Well, the doll is still intact. Nothing broke. But I don't move him much, he's mainly sitting inside my closed, hehe.
After I finished sculpting him I covered him with white lacquer ...for protection. This seems to work well. :3

It's currently a bit chaotic in my room, because I'm in the progress of moving to another city. I don't want him to fall off the shelf and break something. Among my clothes he's safe ...and comfy XD

Do you feel he's a bit brittle or easier to break? I've tried making bjd parts out of air dry clay, and it was too easy to break, so I'm looking for something else to use. He looks amazing, by the way! I'd be scared to handle him in fear of hurting him!! <33

I haven't done much with him yet, and when I handle him I'm very careful. But as far as I can tell he's pretty strong. I feared the tail would break when I strung him, but it didn't. I'm very pleased with Premix :3
I don't know if that modeling clay is strong enough for SD size, though. My naga is MSD size, and I'm currently working on an even smaller doll. The clay might be too weak for big dolls.

Awesome! I'd be completely heartbroken if I spent so much time on a doll like him and then it breaks while stringing. So I'm glad he's strong enough for you!
I hope you put up pictures of your newest creation, and I hope it's going well for you! I'll be looking into different brands of air dry clay, and Premix just might be one of them, now.
