Your ships are EXACTLY what I imagine the ships looking like when i read the Halo novels, whether that is an impression you wanted to get across or not. I love it!
I read that you use cinema... sucks for me because I've never used that program so I have no idea what it's like, and the chances of me being able to take over any modeling techniques from cinema into Maya or probably fairly unlikely.
But still, excellent work! Even tho I use a different program I would still love to attempt to pick your brain for techniques!

Have you read the Halo novels? If not I highly recommend them.
Just how they are described, with the massive "Shaw-Fujikawa Translight" engines, low control decks at the front, the personalized names. Haha, I don't really know, I'd have to re-read the books (which I just might do) to figure out all of the things that I think of when I read about the ships.

That is some serious detailing you have there. A nice twise on the conventional solid space-ship-block design used frequently.

I used Cinema 4d, and you can find some nice tutorials at c4dboard.com...but, i couldnΒ΄t find any good tutorials about Spacehips. Everything you see, i have learned by myself.

I like it. nice detailing... although to make it look bigger i would turn down the sampling radius... (i'm not sure what package you are using, but the way you have it now, it looks like a little model.. But, very nice model man, i really like this type of 3D... I wish I had time do do it...
