"Mouse-dung!"
The she cat hissed in frustration, glancing up at the tree and the branches that still rustled from her lost prey.
"Bad luck," a new voice called. The she-cat glanced around the tree to see a lithe, light grey tabby tom padding towards her through the long grass. "That squirrel was too skinny, anyway."
The she-cat greeted him with a wave of her tawny-colored tail. "Maybe. But at least it would have warmed cold bellies on a rainy day like this," she muttered, flicking rain from her ears. The tom grunted in agreement, settling himself under a patch of overgrown grass that was still a little dry. The she-cat reared up on her hind legs, placing her front paws on the tree's smooth, wet bark. She stared wistfully through the branches - she could still see the fluffy gray tail up above, taunting her ever so sweetly. Then, "I'm going to climb it!"
"What?" The tom rasped, "No. It's too rainy...too wet. You'll slip and fall and be stuck in the medicine den for moons. What a mousebrained idea!" He scoffed, resuming drying his damp fur.
"Hmph!" The she-cat squeaked, "No need to be such a grump!" She sighed, glancing back in the direction of camp.
"But I suppose you're right. Besides, I promised my apprentice that we'd go battle train today. I'd better get back"
With a final mew and shake of her soaking fur, she plunged into the bushes and raced to camp, not wanting to speak with the grumpy tom any longer.
He watched her go with amusement in his eyes. One day he would ask her to be his mate - the she-cat's independence sparked something in him and he could not ignore it. He hauled himself to his paws and padded after her in the direction towards camp.

OKAY, SO. Here we have just two warriors, from whichever clan you choose, out in the forest. I had started out wanting to just practice drawing trees on photoshop. Then I downloaded some new brushes online .... and abused those. But then, I started drawing the outline of a cat and kinda liked it, so this is what resulted. I slapped on a rain texture last-minute, because I thought it might appeal to the mood more ;D
