Wow!! Your expertise in using watercolor just blows me away. TwT These highlights!!! They're not at all lost in the lightness of the entire color pallet. And your blending of the red tail color into the blue thighs is so well done. Not only that, but even with the ears, hair, and eyes, you keep the red *distinctly* apart from the surrounding lighter colors-- no accidental color bleed on your watch!!!
;w; Seriously... This is incredibly executed.
And the concept for this species and your character Lynn, really have me thinking and curious. I wonder what kinds of speech patterns Lynn's species uses, or what kind of words and language they have for normalizing things that others (humans) might consider desensitized. It also made me wonder, if in the situations where Lynn might (ever possibly) meet you characters Ste, Valorie or Erebus, if any of them might find Lynn's communication... ..."normal" rather than excessive? Or perhaps just, not that alarming? It was really fascinating to consider!!

Goodness, that means so much to me! I actually really enjoyed doing this. Watercolour is one of my favourite mediums (partially because it doesn’t bleed through my sketchbook, since I tend to draw on both sides of a page.) and just how easily everything blends. I’m actually really surprised none of this bled, but then again, that might be down to the slight use of white acrylic to make the pigments of the skin lighter. Thank you so much though, this means the world to me.
I think... Lynn isn’t very good with English - or whatever it is the language is that’s used in the kingdom. They probably struggle with pronounciation and reading a language that isn’t their own. If they don’t understand something, I imagine they’d refer to it in ways like “sharp thingy” or “floofy thingy” and just point at what they mean until they learn what it is.
When it comes to those characters you mentioned, Ste for certain would not react in a... typically positive manner for Lynn. It would probably lead to dissection, if I’m quite honest. Valorie actually isn’t a part of this universe (or at least I haven’t found a place for her yet since it’s still indecisive as to what exact species exist there.) She would likely find Lynn odd, but endearing, though would probably be sharp and harsh about their knowledge of things. And Erebus... well I suspect they might have met already. I don’t think he’d be weirded out, but would find them interesting. He’s more likely to leave them alone and not disturb whatever society they have under water while he goes about and does his own thing.
It was actually a background im working on for a drawing with Erebus in thats inspired Lynn. Hopefully I’ll have that done soon so you can see! ^^
Anyway, again, thank you so much for your support!
