"I walk a lonely road,
the only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes,
but it's only me and I walk alone."

This particular picture took three days to complete, including coloring and shading, and so far, it has to be one of my favorite images of Shadow that I have drawn, hence why I decided to put it here.

The inspiration for this came as I listened to Greenday's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and I imagined that the song was very fitting for our favorite black and red hedgehog. So of course, I began to draw. I used a larger canvas than I'm used to, so scanning it became clumsy and some of the picture was cut off, but it hasn't lost anything major.

The layout of this particular image is good, abiding by the golden triangle rule, and the perspective is pleasing to the eye. The shading took the longest, and was very difficult to get just right, and while i still feel that it's not perfect, I'm more than happy with it.

The trees, night sky, and brick wall are some of my favorite pieces within this picture. The coloration and shading came out wonderful, in my opinion, and they have some depth to them. They also add to the lonely feel of the picture.
Of course, my favorite part of the image has to be Shadow. The shading and highlights came out better than I had initially hoped, and he has real depth and the difficult to draw back view of shadow has been captured magnificently.

the only thing I really don't like about this drawing is the buildings. to me, it stands out like a sore thumb that i made them way too small, and they are also not quite as intricate as the rest of the picture. I realized all of this AFTER the picture was finished, so i couldn't do anything about it.

However, i think that if I increased the size of the buildings and added brick or stone detail...or even concrete texture, it would have come out perfectly.

Also, I think that Shadow's shadow could have been stretched out a bit more so that it wouldn't look so flat, but it's not as pronounced a mistake as the buildings, so it doesn't bother me too much.
