2' x 3', acrylic and digital on masonite

Painting profs wanted me to do more "unrefined areas" instead of treating every element in my paintings the same, so I gave that a shot.

Technical stuff: the original drawing was done digitally and then printed on matte paper. I then sealed the paper and painted over top with acrylics.

This took about 20 scans; the lines visible in some parts of the painting are actually the sheets that the original digital work was printed on. Next time I try this technique I'm going to get the digital printed the exact size of the masonite, but I was kind of pressed for time.
