Technical aspects:

This is the kind of lighting I like the best. It looks like natural light from a window to the left, making shadows in the ripples of the frosting and the in the accordion folds of the paper cup holding the cupcake. It creates wonderful visual interest. Also the fact that the focal point is lighter than the background makes for a better picture.
I'm glad you didn't center the cupcake, but have it off to the "dark" side. The photo is more appealing this way, and because the center of attention is moving out of the photo lets me know there is more to the story, in a way.

Vision
There is defiantly a story here, I’m guessing mostly everyone can pick up the fact that it’s either a birthday or a celebration of some sort. I can tell by the light lighting and the focus of the cupcake that it may seem to be a celebration. I defiantly love the focus of the cupcake because it’s very noticeable and very easy to catch on about. This was very well done.
Originality
Of course I have seen cupcake photographs before, but they were always missing something… almost a theme of some sort…any who I loved how to made this very to a celebration themed photograph. It was very well carried out and very well done.
Technique
This I found was very good. I like the fact that you blurred the background from the actual image that you are trying to focus on (the cupcake). I can tell that this was professionally well done. I like that you made some of the cupcake out of the picture (no pun intended) and it was positioned very well, because it was still showing the other cupcakes be hide it which makes more of a hunger if you ask me e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="
Impact
I am the wrong person to ask to critique this only because the impact is so visible I almost felt like eating my hand it looks so delicious. You presented this very well because I can almost taste the creamy icing and the sweet cupcake touching the tip of my tongue. The story here was very well portrayed and I can tell that you are a very good photographer; the fact that it looks so vivid stuns me.
