The feeling that I get from this moment is that you are at a place in between sadness and joy. And it makes me want to reach out and implore you to come forward and surrender to the light of happiness, never again looking back at the dark shadows that lurk behind. Michael

I am glad this has left an impact enough to warrant interpretation. Thank you for your comments.

This same pose can be varied in many ways, with the slightest changes in your expression. Practice using your beautiful eyes in subtly different openings and moods. Eyebrows, cheeks, eyeball direction... practice expressing your emotions and your intellect this way. The human face's muscles enable thousands of expressions, unlike the rest of the animal kingdom. You have the gift.

No one has ever really encouraged me to practice such things.
Thank you for such encouragement.

When actors are "studying," like at the American Academy Of the Performing Arts, or with Lee Strasberg, they learn that their body is an instrument. You build up its strength, flexibility, endurance...and your control over it so you can be a ballerina one day and a hunchback the next. The face is the most communicative part of the instrument followed by the hands and body postures. They work out, take dance classes, voice classes, etc. Just so they can bring to the part more versatility, dimension, and confidence. There are actors who are successful because they bring their personality to the part but basically repeat their formula; like John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney of the past; People went to the movie to see THEM. Take a Dustin Hoffman or Tom Hanks, Charlize Theron, Kate Blanchett, even Johnny Depp, who has become an ACTOR. They MORPH physically and contextually. They become the character, not just playing a part.
As a model, as an artist, you must reach down inside and become. Drop the pretenses and barriers and BE what the moment is pleading for. Refine your craft. Posing is only the threshold. Sorry about the lengthy response. I just want to help.

The truth is, I just copied these answers from the girl sitting in front of me.
But seriously, amateur or not, your improvement will be a result of your desire. Don't sell yourself short. Explore, experiment, enjoy your hobby. I think you have something special that might lead you to something that pays later on. I'm glad I discovered you. Michael

Like sacred cenotes into which Aztec victims gladly plunged, your eyes are doorways to such a complex afterlife. Your modeling shows your intelligence and sense of humor, this picture does something else. It stuns us, puts hooks in our faces so we cannot turn away. I am fav-ing this and hope to take time to look at more of your work. Deep regards, Ellsworth

Silly isn't it how we respond to beauty (especially that which is visual)? And yet, without such a profound response where would art (and artists) be? We strive to tell a story we hardly know ourselves, one in which most of us never even appear. We point devices at people and things illuminated by a sun 83 million miles away. In the midst of our milieu we stir in transcendent experiences, unteachable with words, and grope like the deaf Beethoven said at the start of his magnum opus "No, not these words!", "no, not this picture, but the beauty I was almost able to capture." Like old timers in Austin TX who say, "oh, you should have been here back twenty years ago..." as though what we ourselves are feeling is not just as profound. So, as artists we build half the Temple and the viewer builds the other. You, Milady, are gorgeous as I stand in wonder of your eyes. Sincerely, Ells
