this one does look tranquil but also sad and vulnerable. kind of forlorn.
Also, i love the tiny house and the small figures you have observing the scene in this and in many of your other paintings.

the open end answer.. "anything may happen" is frightening.. in the context of bigger occurence.. but as much as we strive to uncover truths... to define thing with indefinite and sturdy conclusion.. we crave the mystery so much more.. its always anti climax a few moments after we reach the end of the tunnel..

I sense a bit of tranquility in this the piece from the massive bird-like creatures relaxed position. The vague human shape forming from the smoke of the chimney is a nice touch.
