Hi, my friend!
Well, it´s a long story, nad it ends with me living in a city full of buildings between sand hills and the Pacific Ocean  
My family comes from Germany (yep, as you, by dad´s side !), Vasconia (mom´s side) and the rest of Spain by both sides, but ´cause of the Second World War and the Spaniard Civil War they had to escape and move to Chile, to a beautiful countryside village besides the mountains. They were safe there, but wanted to have better opportunities in these lands, so my grandparents moved to a northern city called Copiapó.
The 1st settler there was Francisco de Aguirre, one of my ancestors, and by those coincidences of life, my parents met there -´til there, everything happy- but (here comes the sad part), dad had to move to one of the northernmost cities here in Chile: Iquique, because of his job.
Iquique´s that city between those desert hills and the sea, so many buildings, just a few trees, so salty soil which doesn´t allow plants to grow up well  
How I´d like to meet my dear Europe someday, its beautiful forests... ...no life without trees    ...
...anyways, it´s said this is a touristc city, but I guess for ppl who likes sandboarding, bohemian stuff and the beach.

sorry that you live in the desert (but even there must be gorgeous places)
but I don't like tourists either

I played with the sun. Originally there were no light rays between the trees. For the complete steps I musst look. I don't know them from mind.
